Lynn Broadbent, Director
Lynn brings over 40 years of experience working with international nonprofits and development to Sambhali U.S. including work at the World Bank on Europe Middle East North African projects, and as the U.S. Fellowship Director of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce, a global network of changemakers headquartered in London, helping to set up the U.S. nonprofit structure and managing a transatlantic program of events. Along the way she started volunteering with Together Women Rise, a national giving circle supporting grassroots women's empowerment programs in developing countries, serving as a chapter leader and chair of the Grant Selection Committee.
In 2019, Lynn discovered Sambhali on a trip to Rajasthan with other Rise members, not realizing that fellow Rise Grant Selection Committee member Shereen Arent had arrived that same day as a volunteer and would soon be working to set up Sambhali U.S. As Lynn recalls: “Whether it was fate or coincidence that brought us together, all I know is that suddenly there was a wonderful opportunity in front of me to join the Sambhali U.S. team and work to support the women and girls served by Sambhali Trust.”
“When I visited Sambhali Trust and met the women sewing and learning, I knew immediately that I had found a gem, an organization with heart. Talking to volunteers in India and at Sambhali U.S., I learned it also had the ability to transform that heart into a holistic suite of programs that were making an enormous impact on women and girls—and I was eager to join in!”
