Carlea Bauman, Director

Carlea Bauman spent three decades working in politics and health advocacy. She has successfully driven advocacy and communications efforts for diabetes and anti-tobacco organizations, run two start-up nonprofits in the cancer field, and worked on education and community engagement for a food allergy organization.

She is an advocate for women and girls and supports women running for political office. She has campaigned on behalf of the Equal Rights Amendment and with Moms Demand Action within her home state of Virginia. 

In addition to Sambhali U.S., Carlea homeschools her son, volunteers with her daughter’s school, and can be found hiking Virginia’s trails on the weekends.
