Donna Arons

Donna is an attorney with extensive experience over the past two decades in civil rights, education and employment law, and currently supervises complex appellate litigation.  She began her legal career representing indigent clients in Trenton, New Jersey. Her focus was on assisting them secure governmental benefits to which they were entitled and helping them fight evictions.  Through this experience, Donna learned firsthand how working one on one to improve the lives of individuals can have ripple effects on others in the community.

Donna also pursues her passion for implementing societal change through her volunteer work.   For the past three years she has been a coordinator with a local organization that resettles refugee families from Syria into the community.  In addition to coordinating drivers to transport the parents and children to preschool, camp, jobs and English classes, she continues to work with the families as a volunteer organizer and friend as they integrate into American life.  Donna is also an active member of Moms Demand Action, an advocacy group that pressures lawmakers to address the epidemic of gun deaths in America through local action.

The work of Sambhali U.S.. fits with Donna’s ethos of effecting global change by improving the lives of individuals.  “I love the idea of working with an organization that impacts the life experiences of so many girls and women, and through them, their families, their communities and beyond.  It is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference from the ground up.”

Donna received her BA in Politics from Brandeis University and her JD from Harvard Law School.  She is the proud mom of twins who are at college making their own impactful changes in the world.  She lives with her husband, Geoff, and the family dog.
