Being Recognized for Volunteering for Sambhali U.S.: Priceless

What if your employer not only encouraged its employees to volunteer for nonprofit organizations, but also found a whole lot of ways to reward volunteerism? Lucky for Sambhali U.S., that’s what Board Member Tanmay Juneja’s employer, Mastercard, does.

Mastercard matches employee donations (including a double match on Giving Tuesday), donates to charitable organizations based on their employees’ volunteer time, and offers employees up to a week a year in paid volunteer leave.

Then it highlights its volunteering superstars – and that’s why Tanmay was recognized by Mastercard as one of its top three employee volunteers in New York City.

The honor is so well deserved. Last year, Tanmay logged in over 120 hours of volunteer work for Sambhali U.S. His efforts are seen throughout the growth of the organization. Just a few highlights:

  • Tanmay led efforts to obtain GuideStar Gold status.

  • His research and data collection covers a wide range of areas from Rajasthan and past Sambhali Trust achievements to U.S. influencers and donor trends.

  • He has developed multiple tracking and data collection systems for both Sambhali U.S. and Sambhali Trust, developed website material for volunteers, and is a part of the team that worked on the Sambhali U.S. website redesign.

  • And Tanmay makes sure communications on Indian culture and language are on point.

All this – and much more – along with the regular organizational governance expected of all board members.

“I am so grateful for Mastercard's benefits to encourage volunteers to give back to the community. It has enabled me to contribute to Sambhali in more ways than I could imagine.”

A hearty badhaee ho (congratulations) and dhanyavaad (thank you) to Tanmay for his commitment and service.
